About

About this site

Brewing notes for six Ceylon cinnamon tea blends, written from the actual products rather than from a keyword list. Every steep time here comes off the pack. There are no health claims on this site, deliberately, and nothing here is medical or dietary advice.

What this is

Cinnamon tea is sold widely and explained badly. Packets say three to five minutes whether the bag holds tea leaf or pure bark, and the two need completely different treatment. This site is an attempt to write that down properly, one page per blend, with the brewing reference putting all six side by side.

Where the numbers come from

Water temperatures, steep times, pack sizes and ingredients are taken from the product specifications for each blend. The tasting notes and the liquor colours are descriptive, and your kettle and your water will shift things a little either way.

No health claims

You will not find anything here about what cinnamon tea does for blood sugar, weight, inflammation or anything else, and that is a deliberate editorial line rather than an oversight.

Plenty of sites in this space make claims they cannot support. This one talks about flavour, temperature and time, which are things that can actually be checked in a kitchen. Nothing here is medical or dietary advice.

The pure cinnamon page is the clearest example of what that looks like in practice.

Commercial relationship

The blends described on this site are made by DRUERA, a family-run Sri Lankan spice business. Where this site links to a shop, those links are marked up as sponsored.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, it is worth fixing. Brewing is a practical subject and the test of a steep time is whether the cup is good.
